There are reasons why you need to restart Chrome to have a fresh start without losing any opening tabs. Maybe one of the tabs you are visiting became unresponsive. Or, the browser occupied too much RAM that needs to be released. You can use the X button to close the browser and reopen it up but you may lose some of the tabs you have opened in a separate Chrome window. You can also kill the browser in the Task Manage if you are on Windows but You could also lose the tabs if you missed the Restart button.
Turns out, Chrome has a restart command that comes right out of the box. Type the following URL in the address bar and press Enter.
about:restart
or,
chrome://restart
The browser will close out and reopen up with all tabs remaining opened, regardless of how many Chrome window you have opened.
As a bonus tip, you can use the following to properly close the Chrome browser without losing any tabs you are visiting.
chrome://quit/
