How To Enable Load Extension Button to Install Microsoft Edge Extension Not in Store

The Extension feature is finally available in Microsoft Edge and you can install them right from the Store app. However, there are only a number of them available at the moment. If you found some other extensions developed for Edge but not yet available in Store, here is how you can get them installed on Edge.

Type about:flags in the address bar and press Enter to open the hidden page full of developer settings and experimental features. One of the settings in Developer settings is called “Enable extension developer features“. Check it on and restart the Edge browser.

After the browser restarted, go to … menu and Extension, you will see the Load extension button now available there with the warning “only load extensions from sources you trust”.

Click the button and select the folder that contents the Extension files that you want to install.
