To be more backward compatible, Microsoft Edge still uses compatibility list, just like its sibling Internet Explorer. Behind the scene, it checks a XML file hosted on Microsoft to see if the website you are trying to visit is on the compatibility list. If yes, the message “This website needs Internet Explorer” will show up first before taking you to the site.
So is there any way to disable the compatibility check so the website will always be displayed in Microsoft Edge without interruption?
Well, Settings don’t have an option for it but yes, there is still a way to do it.
Next time when you visit a website that is on the Microsoft compatibility list, you can still have it displayed in Microsoft Edge directly.
