Google Chrome’s Settings panel is basically a web page that opens in a new tab when requested. But if you prefer having it opened in a new window instead, there is an experimental setting that you can use to make that happen.
Launch Chrome and type the following address in the address bar and press Enter.
chrome://flags/#enable-settings-window
Click on the drop-down menu for that option and select “Enabled“.
Then, click on the Relaunch Now button at the bottom of the page to restart the Chrome browser so the changes can kick in after the restart.
That’s it. From now on, whenever you try to access the Settings page in Chrome, it will get opened in a new window, instead of a new browser tab.
